The Brian Lehrer Show

Good Morning Everyone! It´s the Brian Lehrer show on WNYC.

This is usually how starts one of the most beloved news program on the radio (AM 820) and on the internet in NYC.

The Brian Lehrer program airs between the hours of 10 am and 12 pm 5 days a week. If you really want to get quality information and deep analysis of what is happening politically  and culturally, and what is happening in between, not only in the US and NYC, but around the world, you must listen to this program.

On the air for over 20 years, Brian Lehrer covers hot button issues like no other radio personality. His guests are  highly qualified in their field of work. For example:  speaker of NYC council woman Melissa Mark-Viverito was invited to talk about the federal government response to the hurricane in Puerto-Rico.  Another guest was the writer and ativist Ta-Nehisi Coates who was invited to talk about his book “Between the World and Me”. This particular book was written to his son explaining the perils of  growing up being black in America. Recently Brian Lehrer invited the new MTA president, Andy Byford. He came in to talk about his vision and the challenges regarding the Metopolitan subway system. These are some of the recent guests appearing on the show. His topics usually includes US Presidency, Immigration, abortion, race, sexual harassement in the work place, civil rights, LGBT issues, and a lot more.

Every Friday morning NYC´s mayor Bill de Blasio is a guest on the program talking about local and national issue concerning all citizens, especially New Yorkers. In his last appearance the mayor talked about the crisis in NYCHA and congestion pricing plan for the island of Manhattan.

The Brian Lehrer program is not only about interesting guests and newsmakers. Callers also are invited to participate and give their opinion on any topics that are being discussed.
